The project “Active Aging & Wellness Center: Empowering Senior Citizens through Health, Dignity, and Livelihood” (A holistic initiative for healthy, happy, and self-reliant seniors) is specially written under the thrust area of ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.) CSR initiative.
The “Active Aging & Wellness Center” project, part of ONGC’s CSR initiative, aims to promote healthy and independent aging for 100-150 senior citizens, particularly focusing on elderly women and disadvantaged groups. Key components include health services, skill training in areas like handicrafts and gardening, and community engagement to reduce isolation.
Project Overview:
1. Project Objective: To promote active, healthy, and financially independent aging through integrated wellness, skill training, and income generation for senior citizens.
2. Target Beneficiaries: 100–150 senior citizens (with focus on elderly women, SC/ST, OBC, and low-income groups).
3. Core Components: Health & wellness services, yoga and physiotherapy, nutrition counseling, mental health support, and recreational activities.
4. Livelihood Component: Skill development in handicrafts, tailoring, culinary arts, and gardening linked with market-based income generation.
5. Social Integration: Community events, family engagement, and intergenerational programs to reduce isolation and promote dignity.
6. Sustainability Plan: 70–85% self-sufficiency by year-end through product sales, service fees, and wellness memberships.
7. Expected Outcomes: Improved health, increased social engagement, and enhanced income for elderly participants.
8. Alignment with SDGs: Directly contributes to SDGs 3 (Health), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Economic Growth), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 11 (Sustainable Communities).

Project Contents
