Project Overview
Project Prerna is a one-year Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative proposed by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), focusing on Sustainable Livelihood and Women Empowerment. The project aims to enhance the socio-economic status of rural women by promoting eco-friendly and profitable oyster mushroom cultivation at home.

Project Highlights

1.Empowerment of Women: The project aims to empower 500 rural women across 10 villages by forming 50 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), fostering community support and collaboration.

2.Spawn Production Unit: Establishment of a spawn production unit is planned to ensure a consistent supply of quality mushroom seeds, crucial for successful cultivation.

3.Training and Support: Comprehensive training, including exposure visits to successful farms, will be provided to all SHG members, ensuring they gain the necessary skills and knowledge.

4.Waste-to-Wealth Model: Women will cultivate oyster mushrooms utilizing agricultural waste, promoting a sustainable waste-to-wealth model that contributes to environmental conservation.

5.Value-Added Products: The initiative will focus on creating value-added products such as mushroom powder and dehydrated mushrooms under the “Prerna Mushrooms” brand, enhancing income potential.

6.Sustainable Livelihood: The target outcome is to establish a sustainable source of income for each participating woman, ensuring long-term financial independence.

7.Alignment with SDGs: The project aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including poverty reduction, gender equality, food security, economic growth, responsible consumption, and climate action.

8.Sustainability Plan: A strong exit and sustainability strategy will be implemented through the formation of SHG federations, establishment of a revolving fund, and creation of market linkages to ensure ongoing success after the project concludes.

9.Corporate Branding: IOCL branding will be prominently displayed throughout all project activities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to social responsibility and enhancing public awareness.

Project Contents
Comprehensive proposal including objectives, activities, timelines, budget, sustainability plan, Gantt Chart, Organogram of team structure, a logical framework (Logframe), detailed budget, a sustainability plan, an exit strategy, and anticipated benefits to IOCL, impact assessment details and a separate folder containing images..
